Chief Executive Officer
Nick is Chief Executive Officer of Storegga and a founding Director. During his career, Nick has worked in the international upstream oil and gas sector and in corporate finance. Prior to Storegga, he was Chief Executive Officer of Ophir Energy plc and previously Chief Financial Officer of Salamander Energy plc. He began his career as a geophysicist with BG and Amoco before joining Booz-Allen & Hamilton. From 1999-2005 he was a member of the energy and power team at Goldman Sachs. Nick has a BSc and PhD in Geophysical Sciences and an MBA from INSEAD.
Chief Financial Officer
Brandon brings over 20 years’ experience working on critical national infrastructure projects. Prior to joining Storegga, Brandon has been CFO of Thames Water, the UK’s largest water company. Brandon also has 10 years’ of FTSE 100 experience at SSE plc in a range of senior finance roles, including Managing Director for Finance (2013 - 2017).
Chief Operating Officer
David was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2020. He built his career in the international oil and gas sector in major projects and operations with BP where he was Senior Vice President for Projects & Engineering, and a member of BP’s Group Leadership team. He has also held several Board positions in oil and gas companies and is a Non-Executive Director of Savannah Energy plc. David is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel
Karen has worked across energy and renewables, maritime, banking and international capital markets. Karen has held General Counsel and senior leadership roles in global organisations working in the UK, North America, and Asia. Karen is a licensed attorney with the Texas Bar and is a solicitor and member of the Law Society of England and Wales.
Carbon Capture & Storage
Charlie heads up Storegga’s carbon capture and its associated transport and storage. The team leads on the Acorn Project, the foundation of the Scottish Cluster, which brings together low carbon technologies to support the transition to net zero. Storegga is the lead developer of Acorn, as well as the lead for the Scottish Cluster. The Acorn blueprint attracts a great deal of international interest as the world moves to net zero. Storegga is taking this expertise and developing a carbon capture and transport and storage portfolio around the world. Charlie has more than 25 years’ experience in the international energy sector in a variety of technical and business management roles.
Direct Air Capture
Sanjay is responsible for bringing the direct air capture business to life. Within the role he manages all aspects of development and commercialisation of the business to ensure it is a commercial and climate impacting success. Sanjay has worked in oil and gas, banking and most recently has been a tech entrepreneur working on innovative technologies in the software and consumer electronics industry. Sanjay is a board advisor to early stage technology companies and has extensive experience in delivering ideas from concept to commercial reality.
Hydrogen
Andrew is responsible for developing Storegga’s hydrogen business and activities. Within this role, he manages the Acorn hydrogen project in Scotland and is responsible for building Storegga’s wider hydrogen portfolio around the world. Andrew has worked in the energy business for many years, particularly internationally and has established a number of new businesses and commercialised projects in both regulated and unregulated environments.
New Ventures
Jon is responsible for growing a global portfolio of net zero infrastructure projects via strategic partnerships and investments. Jon began his career as an engineer in the energy sector, later moving into commercial and management roles. He left industry after a decade to take on advisory roles, leading M&A origination and execution in major international investment banks, and then in management consulting.
Integrated
Dewi leads Storegga Integrated - a ‘one stop shop’ service for industrial emitters looking for help on capturing, transporting and storing their CO2. This is a complex area, with Storegga providing navigation of areas such as risk and varying carbon pricing. Dewi brings more than 30 years of experience in the utility and oil & gas sectors (Centrica and BP respectively) of which 15 years have been in carbon capture and storage (CCS). Dewi’s knowledge of global opportunities for CCS and the commercial requirements for project viability is material to building Storegga’s position with international CCS opportunities. Dewi also brings in-depth experience with market designs and contract structuring in the gas & power sector (midstream & downstream) in UK, Europe, Australia and Middle East.
Head of Corporate Affairs
In her role, Sorrelle brings together Storegga’s government relations and communications expertise to support Storegga’s early stage development activity. She is also responsible for engaging employees behind the company’s mission and leading the ESG team. Sorrelle ran her own strategic communications consultancy, Sharpener Communications, before joining Storegga, advising senior management on company launches, private equity fundraisings and M&A, as well as on crisis communications issues. Prior to launching Sharpener Communications, Sorrelle was a Director in KPMG UK’s Corporate Affairs department and Head of Communications. She has also worked on the PR agency side, supporting investment institutions such as Schroders and Credit Suisse.
Head of Policy & Regulation
Nicola is responsible for leading Storegga’s work on regulation and policy. Within this role, she works constructively with policy makers and regulators to help establish supportive and fit for purpose frameworks to enable the transition to Net Zero. Nicola has worked in the energy and natural resources sector for over 17 years, as a regulator, at a major consultancy and in industry.
Head of Corporate Finance & Investor Relations
Michael leads Storegga’s corporate finance and investor relations activities as the business looks to accelerate the development of its international portfolio of low-carbon projects.Michael joins from Citi, the global investment bank, where he was a director in equity research, specialising in energy transition areas such as renewables, biofuels and carbon capture & storage. Prior to Citi, Michael held equity research roles at Morgan Stanley and Nomura and also worked in leveraged finance following his qualification as a Chartered Accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Chairman of the Board
Alistair Buchanan joined Storegga as non-executive Chair in 2021. His extensive experience in the energy and regulated utilities sectors, includes serving as Chief Executive of Ofgem for ten years where he led the creation of the regulatory structures for the offshore wind industry and total revision of the onshore network regulatory regime. Trained as a Chartered Accountant at KMPG, he went on to become an award-winning energy sector analyst and head of research for banks in New York and London. He returned to KPMG in 2013 as a Partner and served for five years. He currently serves as Chairman of Electricity North West and is on the board of WH Ireland.

Anne is a Non-Executive Director on various infrastructure and utility companies and governmental boards and has a wealth of experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors. She was Global Head of Projects, Energy and Infrastructure at law firm Allen & Overy LLP between 2012 and 2017, and worked at the firm for over thirty years. Anne also spent six years as a Board Member of the Nuclear Liabilities Financial Assurance Board, advising the Secretary of State on the suitability of the Funded Decommissioning Programmes submitted by the operators of new nuclear power stations. She has also been a trustee for Cancer Research UK.
